Evenley Parish Council

Located at the southern extremity of the county, bordering Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire, Evenley, in geographic area terms, is believed to be one of the largest parishes in Northamptonshire. Administratively, along with Aynho and Croughton, it forms the Little Brook Ward of South Northamptonshire Council and joint ward meetings of the three Parish Councils are held every six months.

Evenley Parish Council is comprised of seven Parish Councillors, assisted by the parish clerk. They meet at least every other month in the village hall, which the Parish Council owns and which is governed, on its behalf, by a management committee made up of representatives of the various clubs and societies which use the hall. The Parish Council also owns the village green, the Evenley Common Pocket Park on Bicester Hill and the village allotments on Church Lane. From time to time the council publishes a village newsletter which is distributed free of charge to every house in the parish.

The Parish Council seeks to encourage and occasionally subsidise community activities in the village. The Parish Council depends on volunteers to assist with the ongoing provision of the essential elements of traditional and evolving village life.

The Evenley Residents Association and others have performed a valuable role in recording our heritage. Our Footpath Warden keeps a wary eye on the multitude of public footpaths which criss-cross the parish and provide access to the countryside. Our Tree Warden provides valuable advice on the health of our village trees. Our recently appointed Highways Representative and existing Snow Warden support us in our dealings with the county highways authority.

If you wish to take a more active part in the life of the village or seek any other information please contact the parish clerk, Joyce Stevens 01280 702861
