Warning! - Bellringing is highly addictive
When you hear the church bells in Evenley there is a good chance that they are being rung by visitors. The Evenley team belongs to The Peterborough Diocesan Guild of Bellringers.
First Tuesday of each month at St Georges Church 7.30pm to 9pm.
Bellringing practice rotates through the local churches throughout
the month and there is always a friendly group of ringers waiting to
welcome you (and show off) whatever night suits you.
Evenley gets its turn on the first Tuesday of each month. We welcomed
(in Feb 2011) 13 on a single night! A record and a bit crowded but the
more the merrier! Just come to watch if you want.
Other Tuesdays we rotate round Aynho, Kings Sutton, Croughton and Evenley. Another group meets Wednesdays, another Thurdays, etc. Lots of scope for meeting like minded (some skillfull and most others new to ringing)
No upper age limit.
Our own team needs strengthening and the Tower Captain Paul Bennett would welcome your interest. Call him on 01280 703904.
Whats in it for me?
• Exercise for body and mind
• Excellent social activity
• Travel to other towers
• Sense of achievement
• Keeping alive an English tradition
