The Rector

The Revd Simon Dommett
The Rectory, Croughton Road
Aynho, Banbury
Oxfordshire
OX17 3BD

Rector of:
Aynho / Croughton / Evenley / Farthinghoe / Hinton-in-the-Hedges / Steane
(The Astwick Vale Benefice)
He will be Instituted by Bishop John, at 7.30pm on the evening of Tuesday, 4 September 2012.

Simon and Heather Dommett
Simon and Heather are really looking forward to coming to the benefice and meeting people and making new friends.

We have been married for nearly 27 years and have two grown up children, Becca and Chris and a Labrador called Gem, oh and a rescue hen who will hopefully soon have some company! Becca lives in Leicester and works as a tutor for Learn Direct whilst studying for her Masters. She is an active member of her church and leads the worship. Chris is in his second year at St John’s Nottingham on the Youth and Community Work with Practical Theology degree with a 3-year placement at Ashby Youth for Christ.

Before Simon entered the ministry, he was a director of an engineering company. With any spare time he has, Simon enjoys walking, bell ringing and ‘tinkering around building computers’. Until the appointment, Heather worked as a part-time Area Coordinator and Curriculum Specialist for the county council, delivering teaching opportunities to adults in deprived communities. Her hobbies include walking, reading and most importantly singing.

As a family, church has always been part of our lives. At our wedding, the reading chosen was from Romans 12, which talks about always keeping an open door. This we have taken to heart and our door is always open if we are at home. We hope to move in mid July so please pop in for a cuppa and say hello.

Thank you

As most people now know, The Revd. Gill Barker retired due to ill heath, so until the new Rector joins us in July, enquiries for the church should be directed at the Church Wardens: Jose Golding email: jose@exjs.com and Paul Bennett email: bennettofevenley@tiscali.co.uk
